Operational controls
Maintain an approved product list, controlled dilution, environmental hazard assessment, safe storage, spill controls and review of lower-impact alternatives.
Use the minimum effective water quantity, report leaks, plan for sites without water and prevent inappropriate discharge.
Group work geographically, plan routes, maintain vehicles, avoid unnecessary idling and prevent transport spills.
Apply the waste hierarchy: prevention, reuse, recycling, recovery and disposal where safe and lawful.
